The idea for Bravely came about in mid-2019, when our co-founders Mel and Rackley were daydreaming ideas to magically wish into existence if you could snap your fingers and do so. With Mel's lifelong battle against her mental health, it didn't take long to dream up what has now become Bravely:
“What if there was something in your pocket that helps you?
That teaches you to understand your mental health with evidence-based scientific methods, so you can live a happier, healthier life?”
It was a very easy “yes, let’s build it”.
Struggling with mental health is a universal problem, affecting 1 in every 4 people. The combination of stigma and inaccessible help, meant that to 'struggle' has become the norm.
The more we dug in, the more blindingly obvious it was that access to mental health help was dependent on privilege and circumstance.
here was no doubt.
It has to change.
We’re ready.
